First Jam session and other thoughts
September 18th, 2010 - Garage Music,Music,Random
Ive been sitting in the garage for a few hours now, thinking. not always a bad thing. but can be if the right time presents itself. Blogging is not supposed to be about complaining or bitching about my predicament. but why not? If you are reading this then you might care a little. If you stop now I wouldn't blame you.
Sucks to be the guys who stopped reading before, cause to night was actually pretty cool. Buddy of mine, Gerret, lent me some pretty bad ass equipment.
Like I said to Nick earlier, "we have all been friends for going on two decades now, all play our respective instruments, and JUST NOW WE ARE GETTING TOGETHER TO JAM?". whats up with that? I guess we all might have used music to come together and separate all at the same time. trying to find our own niche inside the same brotherhood we all found in the music we listened to. I guess thirty is a good time to at least strive for that boyish dream of being in a band. Better late then never, right?
We wrote a pretty decent beginning to a song. sounded pretty metal to me. One thing I realized during the jam session is that I might actually be a pretty good guitar player. I mean not good, but pretty fucking awesome. You know when you see a band you really like up close? When I saw Beast Machine for example, unearthed, poison the well, six feet under, slayer even, I would watch the guitar player player, and cream about how fast I saw his hand move. It was like a snake with five heads repeatedly attacking his own individual victim over and over again. caught myself in a reflection and watched ME play. HOLY CRAP!! it was just about the same. Jesse has some skills. Never would have known that if i continued on my path of playing by myself with fake basses and drum samples.
I made this blog for a reason, I actually forgot why. I haven't written here for two years almost. I think I may start writing a lot more. it seems a little to more therapeutic.
